Jamie Woodwell

Jamie Woodwell is Vice President of Commercial Real Estate Research at the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). As the leader for MBA's research on commercial and multifamily finance issues, Woodwell is responsible for providing economic and policy analysis in the area of real estate finance. Woodwell is a regular speaker at industry and other events, and he and his work are frequently featured in both print and television news media.

Woodwell oversees MBA's surveys on commercial/multifamily production and servicing and produces regular and topical reports on the commercial/multifamily finance environment. He has staff responsibility for MBA's Commercial/Multifamily Research Committee and has served as staff to the Council to Shape Change as well as the Council on Ensuring Mortgage Liquidity.

Previously, Woodwell was the manager of data initiatives for Fannie Mae's multifamily group, where he was responsible for developing Fannie Mae's multifamily data standards and projects consolidating data from various business lines. He has also served as the senior director of business development at CapitalThinking in New York, director of market research at the WMF Group in Virginia, and research manager at the National League of Cities in Washington, D.C .

Woodwell received his bachelor's degree from Brown University and his master's degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Pittsburgh.
