MBA's Mortgage Originations Survey covers mortgage origination activity during the first and second quarters for Mid-year and third and fourth quarters for Year-end. This survey collects detailed information on first-lien and second-lien originations for single family properties. New information collected includes origination data on first-time homebuyers, housing type (single-family attached, single-family detached, etc.) and some additional mortgage products.
